The unfinished day

Yesterday I got so busy posting pictures from the Capitol that I didn't finish taking about our day. On Monday we teach on the hill in one of three congressional buildings. They had to move us from our regular class room to this room

This is a room were they hold hearings. You can not have a cell phone when they are in session.

There is beautiful carved wood.

I guess this is the cheat sheet so you don't forget names.

What I wanted to remember besides the beautiful room was a discussion we had about faith. Have you ever wondered why faith was so important for us to develop. It is the first principle of the gospel. As I later reflected on our students question I believe that it demonstrates our use of our agency. We use that agency to step into the unknown trusting. If we knew what was happening it would interfer with our agency. I have been so impressed with scriptures that basically say we get what we desire. Alma 41:5 "the one raised to happiness according to his desires of happy,or good according to his desire of good;and the other evil according to his desires of evil; for as he has desired to do evil all the day long even so shall he have his reward of evil when the night cometh." We get what we desire. Faith demonstrate our desires for Godily blessings and promises. Faith gives us the chance to use our agency to choose.

  1. I really liked your comments on Faith. Thanks for teaching institute via your blog!

  2. It's fun seeing pictures of all the rooms you have been permitted to use. Thanks for including the scripture.
