Christmas Music

Christmas music is so inspiring.  It is part of the magic of the season.  Today we didn't have our regular fast day because the interns in the ward will be leaving this Saturday.  So we had the Christmas program today and next week will be fast and testimony meeting.  Our ward has such great talent that it was like going to a professional presentation.  I noticed that at the end of the meeting everyone was so filled with the spirit that even the audience sang with all their heart and soul and the room was filled with rejoicing and praising the Lord.  It was so wonderful to be there.  We came home from Church and ate left overs.  It is nice to have a break from having company every Sunday to cook for.

After dinner we started to read the Forgotten Christmas Carols.  We don't have the music with the book this year but we have the book on the I-Pad so we have started our regular tradition.  Our little Christmas tree brings the festive feel of the season.

We headed over to the Barlow Center at 7:00.  We have a game called Farkle that has turned out to be a hit with some of the interns.  One of our interns said she couldn't leave DC until she beat me.  I won.  We watched the first presidency Christmas Devotional after the game.  We were able to end our Sabbath as we started it with inspiring music and edifying talks.  This is a wonderful season of the year.  We will miss our interns when they go home Saturday.  We are like a big happy family going to Church on the bus each week.  It will be strange to go without them next week.

  1. Cute tree!! We watched the First Presidency devotional with the Sister missionaries tonight. I wish we had more people for them to teach. I need to be more diligent in my prayers for a missionary opportunity. Hope your knee is feeling better.

  2. Farkle is a game of chance, so I want to know how you always win?
