City Shut Down

Yesterday it rained all day.  At 7:40 a.m. this morning the rain turned to freezing rain and then shortly after to snow.  It snowed all day. Elder Anthony shoveled three different times today.  Our class was cancelled again today but so was the federal government, and the schools.  I have tried to figure out why this city shuts down so easily and I think I have figured it out.  1.  freezing rain is horrible.  We are not use to dealing with frozen rain.  It is paralyzing.  2.  The horrible traffic is unforgiving in the snow. 3.  People are from all over the world and many have never driven in snow before and do some crazy things.  4. There is no place to put the snow.  There are no shoulders in the city.  5.  They do not have the equipment to handle all the roads.

We got our lessons done today.  We also needed to get our laundry done.  Tomorrow we go with the interns to Valley Forge.  It is suppose to be cold so we should get a good feel of what George Washington experienced.  The BYU professor is stuck in Boston so I hope he makes it back.   We have no idea what we are doing.

We probably got 6 to 8 inches of snow today.

A couple of the students made a snow princesses in the front of the Barlow.  I thought it was rather creative.
