Humidity

Humidity makes hot feel much hotter and cold feel much colder.  It is 82 degrees right now.  With the 70% humidity it feels like 88.  It is raining tonight and you feel like you are walking through a rain cloud even before the rain started.  But I will not complain because it is harder on me in the winter.

We have a small group using the Barlow for the next three days.  We  got there a half hour earlier and ended up having our in-service meeting down in the foyer so we could wait for them to come.  They were extra late.  But they were there all day until 5:00.  Early this morning for our exercise we walked over and order bagels for Friday morning.

We taught our institute class up on the hill and had a good turn out with 8.  I took homemade bread and peanut butter and they love it.  We took the bus to Safeway on the way home and picked up the chocolate milk and orange juice for Friday morning.  We are taking the student to Valley Forge Friday and Saturday.

Tonight we cleaned our condo and went to home evening.  So it has been a full day.

These are the new bush in the front.  The roses are blooming.  They ripped out the old stuff last fall and put this in and they didn't even water them.  There are no sprinklers in there to water the bushes only mother nature.  I was worried that they wouldn't all make it and they did.  Mother nature is kind to DC. In fact it is pouring raining right now so they are being watered.

  1. That's so funny to hear you talk about mother nature doing the watering and about humidity. I forget that for people from Utah they don't know that stuff. Ha ha! (It's getting really hot here and the humidity makes it miserable already)

  2. I still remember the humidity everywhere we were on our mission. Often we would have puddles of water on the inside window sills in our flat from the condensation dripping down the windows. And I won't even MENTION what it did to my frizzy hair!!! The only bad thing I can say about our mission. haha
