Beautiful Buildings in DC

Washington has the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen.  I love the wood carving and the detail that goes into them. When we came home from Church we decided to go for a walk and take pictures of the buildings that we pass every time we go to Church or Safeway.

Just across the street is this little home of two little oriental ladies.  They are out sweeping off the leaves with branches and doing their laundry and hanging their clothes.  They don't beg or accept handouts.  All though last winter when it was so cold we took them some hot soup and they took that.

Beautiful fall leaves.

This building is a clothing store now but I think it was one time a masonic temple.  What do you think?

Today we met a missionary couple just coming out to report to the Washington DC South mission our next door neighbors.  They are being called to work the with activation for the young adults in their mission but not teaching institute.  You will probably recognize the name.  Elder and Sister Kennard.  That is Spence Kennard from the spoken word with the tabernacle choir.

The people that our looking into our mission called again today.  This time the wife wanted to talk to me.  They sound like a perfect couple.  They told us they would let us know if they get the call.  Just talking about our mission makes me realize what an awesome mission we are doing.  We love this work.  We are so blessed to be here.

  1. So good to hear that you are walking again and enjoying the scenery. The pictures are lovely reminders of the classic style so common in DC.

  2. It never gets old. Just beautiful.

  3. I don't know how those oriental women survive the winter outside.
