News of terrorism in Paris

We are saddened with the new of so many people killed and injured in Paris.  It is hard to believe that people can be so full of hate that they would do something like this.  Our world is so sad and disturbed.  We were made aware of Isis threats on Washington DC as well.  Early this morning we were told about a disturbed woman with a gun.  She assaulted a police office while armed.  A gun was fired so they barricaded the streets in a mile block area right in the middle of town for 12 hours.  It caused a huge mess with traffic and people could not get in the area to go to work.   Out in front of our place there were buses stacked up waiting to leave.  We went over to the metro to go teach our class and we out walked the cars waiting to move on Pennsylvania Ave.

We also received sad news today.  Eric Vogal who at one time was our dentist, a member of our stake presidency, and our daughters best friends uncle died after fighting cancer for 4 years.  He was 54.  Our neighbor across the street  in Orem died.  And I saw tonight on the Timpview Seminary facebook page a young lady that goes to Timpview was taken off life support today and is expected to die.

So today has been a sober day.  It has been a day of reflection and some sorrow.  Things are always happening around you.  Life does not stay the same.

The best thing that happened today is that it was David's Birthday.  It is hard to imagine that we have a son that is 39.

  1. We are praying that the threats on Washington, DC do not become a reality. They are also threatening NYC. Even SLC is reviewing ways of avoiding a terrorist threat. Sadly, our world will never be the safe and happy place it was in our childhoods.
