Things to think about

We checked and the flame is still going on the water heater so hopefully we will pass two days without it going out. Susana did put a new lighter on it so we are keeping our fingers crossed.  We worked over at the Barlow today from 9 to 3:30.  We came home and ate and went back over at 5 to meet a group that was using the center tonight.  We usually stay with a group but we teach tonight so we left  and went to our class.  We had two non members in attendance and the Elders showed up which was great.  When we came back to the Barlow everything was cleaned up but taking the garbage out so we did that and came home.

I have been working at entering email for young adults in the Washington Stake. I will start notifying them of institute classes being taught.  I don't know how effective it will be.  But I figure I will either make them mad or maybe they will come out.

Today we talked about the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith and his death.  I was impressed by a quote from Neil L. Andersen.  He said, "Studying the Church … through the eyes of its defectors,’ Elder Neal A. Maxwell once said, is ‘like interviewing Judas to understand Jesus… “The negative commentary about the Prophet Joseph Smith will increase as we move toward the Second Coming of  the Savior. The half-truths and subtle deceptions will not diminish."  It is true Joseph has been dead for over 171 years and his name is still had for evil and we should expect that it will increase not diminish.  Especially as Satan tried to destroy this work and the people that believe in it.    D&C 122:1-2 says, The ends of the earth shall inquire after thy name, and fools shall have thee in derision, and hell shall rage against thee.  While the pure in heart, and the wise, and the noble, and the virtuous, shall seek counsel, and authority, and blessings constantly from under thy hand.

  1. I think it's a great idea to send out an e-mail about your institute class.
