Break and Relaxation

We decided since today was 41 degrees outside that we would go and work on our bucket list.  We went to the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.  Once again it was a beautiful cathedral.  From the outside I didn't expect much but it was gorgeous inside.

We did quite a bit of walking and passed several other churches.

Messianic Temple.

National Christian Church

One of our bucket list items was to eat at Ben's Chili Bowl.  Elder Anthony loves chili so we needed to try it.  We don't go out to eat very often so this was a fun part of our outing.  The manager came by to see if we liked our food and he saw our name tags.  He asked where we were from.  I asked him if he knew anything about the Mormon Church.  He said yes quite a bit and you are always welcome here.  He gave us each a post card with the picture of the store and then he was off.  We had the menu item that made Ben's famous in 1958, a chili dog.  They even had a picture of Pres. Obama eating a chili dog.

You can see Pres. Obama behind us.

  4. That was a beautiful church. I think you would have to live there for a couple of years just to see everything.
