Walking in the City

Living in DC has changes the way you do things.  The only time we walked in Orem was to exercise.  In DC you walk to everything within a mile or so of your house or you  use public transportation. Everyone seems to walk.  The sidewalks are crowded with people rustling here and there.    Today we had several errands and we walked.  We needed to post a package.  We needed to order bagels for the outing on Saturday.  We needed to visit our neighbor in the hospital, We needed to get to our class so we walked to the Metro. I asked Elder Anthony do you think we will continue to walk when we go home or will we jump in our car to run our errands.  There is always plenty of free parking and you can do everything in a fraction of the time it takes to walk.  I guess we won't know until we return but I am afraid that we will go back to using the car.  One of the advantages of the big city is that there are resources close by to walk to. In Orem there are two post offices.  Around me there are 3 within walking distance.

Our 94 year old neighbor Lillie loves hot spicy food.  So while we were placing the order for Saturday we bought her a jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese to take to the hospital.  She seemed really pleased that we would bring her something that she loves because she told us the food was bland.

Our class tonight was about half the size as normal and I didn't feel the class went as well.  I can't quite put my finger on why.

Today was our first really hot humid day.  We have really had nice weather but today was really muggy and hot.  It was 95 degrees and 80% humidity.
